iKON + Awards: Where and How to Vote

Though 2018 is almost over, iKON and iKONICs are still busy with end of the year awards. After the success of Love Scenario and two more comebacks, iKON has rightfully earned their nominations in numerous awards, many of which are still on going.

Find out below in which awards and categories iKON are nominated, and how you can help them win:

Seoul Music Awards has their own mobile app where you can vote for iKON in the K-Wave and Main categories. However, we encourage iKONICs to vote only in the Main category. You can download the app in Google Play or the App Store. Voting will end on January 11th (KST).

Koreasic International Awards nominated iKON and Love Scenario in the following categories. All you have to do to vote is retweet and like the tweets below, and fill the form linked there. You can vote once a day per e-mail! The voting form will close on January 14th, 0AM (KST )while voting through likes and retweets will end in January 14th, 10PM (KST).

How to vote on MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards

iKON has received six nominations for the upcoming MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards.

They are nominated in the following categories:

• Song of the Year for Love Scenario
• Digital Album of the year for Return
• Artist of the Year
• Rap/Hip Hop Music Award for Love Scenario
• Male Group Award
• Genie Music Popularity Award

 

In order to vote for  Genie awards you need to have a verified Genie account. Account is verified by using Korean phone number or i-PIN. International fans can verify their account by purchasing verification of an existing Kakao account (USD 12.99) or by purchasing a random verified account (USD 9.99). This service is available at OBTGAME site.

Now having a verified account you are able to cast one vote per day per category. If you have an active streaming Genie pass than you can vote 3 times a day per category.

If you open the voting site in Chrome it will translate the page in English so it is easy to navigate. You just select the category and scroll until you see iKON and click vote.

TIME TO VOTE – AAA Popularity Award

Awards season is slowly approaching and it is time to vote. iKON has been confirmed to appear on Asia Artist Award and pre-vote opened today.

Voting is super easy. You use your social media accounts to register to vote. You can vote 5 times a day per social media account.

Navigating the site is easy as you can select English as language option. Once you login with your social media account you just go on the vote section and vote for iKON five times per account by selecting the vote option under iKON’s image.

 Another thing we can do is post on our own SM accounts how easy it is to vote to try to get casual fans to vote for iKON too.

Youtube Streaming Guideline

Youtube streaming has always been a mystery and a hard task to accomplish, especially with Youtube getting more and more strict with the rules and improving their bots every day for more accurate and realistic statistics.

But hey, we can be smarter than the bots (for now, at least) and here’s how:

– Use all your Youtube accounts to watch, like, upvote comments, comment, reply to other comments, share, etc. Do this with the dance practices and teasers too.

– Like top comments AND new comments.

– Make your own streaming playlist (yes, with each of your accounts), name it something realistic, and add multiple different videos (one Love Scenario video once after each other video). Play it in it’s entirety for around two or three hours, while logged in and on shuffle.

– Log out, stream another playlist for around three to four hours.

– If you’re using an incognito window, choose a playlist, and play it for around three or four hours.

– After all of this, change your IP address using a VPN like Hola (have in mind Hola DOES NOT work on incognito), rinse and repeat.

Some misconceptions:

• Speed and quality of the video don’t affect your views.
• The video can be at any volume, as long as you DON’T mute it:
  • What you can do, however, is mute the tab
    
  • Or mute your browser from the volume mixer
    
• Skipping ads or using AdBlock while you stream doesn’t affect views.
• Pausing, forwarding, buffering or auto quality changes don’t affect views.

The ‘overall’ trick is to make the Youtube algorithm think you’re watching multiples videos, and not trying to give one single video a lot of views.

Total views of a video reflect the number of times a video has been watched, not how many people have watched it, which is why you can give a video multiple views using the same account if you know how to trick the Youtube bot.

This guide is not 100% foolproof, bots are hard to trick and they’re very, very smart, but hopefully this will help us make our streaming as accurate and profitable as possible.

The lovely people at @KONVIEW have set the goal for LOVE SCENARIO MV at 4 million views on YouTube within first 24 hours.

It might seem like a lot but for the first time we have only one MV to focus on and since before now we’ve done more numbers combined for two MVs we can definitely do it!

Hello iKONICs! With the supposedly imminent iKON comeback, it’s time to gear up and get ready to do some work as soon as the album comes out. Kony’s Island, in collaboration with KONSQUAD, bring you a much needed tutorial on how to create a Genie account and how to get free streaming passes, you can also see here how to redeem them.

As a fandom we don’t have a lot of experience with streaming, so we hope this will motivate new iKONICs to participate in fan promotions to help out the boys.
