iKON does it again: Daesang and Bonsang at Golden Disk Awards 2019

2019 kicked off in the best of ways for iKON and iKONICs.

The first day of the Golden Disk Awards were held on January 5th at 5PM, where iKON’s mega hit-song, Love Scenario, won a Bonsang and later on was announced as the winner of the Digital Song of the Year Daesang.

iKON members win big at MMA2018: SOTY and Songwriter Award

After a very successful year, iKON won their first Song of the Year Daesang with the mega-hit song, Love Scenario, at the Melon Music Awards. Love Scenario also won the Melon Top 10 award, and B.I was awarded the well-deserved Songwriter Award.

iKON’s Love Scenario wins Best Rap/HipHop Performance at Genie Music Awards

The hit song Love Scenario, from the album New Kids: Return released in January 2018, was nominated for Best Rap/HipHop Performance in September at the Genie Music Awards.

The awards ceremony was on November 6th, though iKON didn’t attend since they were holding a concert in Budokan, Japan, at the time.

iKON Repays the Love of their Youngest Fans with PiKONIC DAY!

iKONICs uWu-meters went into overdrive today as iKON fully embraced their media derived title of “President of the Kids” and shared a warm and unforgettable afternoon with their youngest fans!

iKON’s mega-hit song Love Scenario which  dropped earlier in the year with their 2nd album “Return” gained viral success and then caught even more attention with their unexpected and clearly overwhelming conquest of Korea’s youngest demographic. The phenomenon fascinated the Korean media especially after the song became so popular with kids it got banned in some elementary schools. They covered it in many programs, invited analysts to discuss it and even conducted a phone interview with iKON leader and song composer Kim Hanbin.

Hanbin stated on social media how he would’ve loved to hold a Kindergarten tour to thank the young fans for their love. It would seem that dream was later transformed into an event called “PiKONIC DAY” held for those young ones who love Love Scenario so much despite the fact that iKON is already on to their next promotions. PiKONIC Day is a special family day between iKON and iKONIC Families and the turn out was heart warming to see.

As updates flowed in from iKONICs at the event it was hard to tell who was more moved; was it the fans who flooded the #PiKONICDAY hashtag with hearts and crying emoji or iKON who stared at the families with softened eyes, invited kids onto the stage with them and hyped up their performances and kept leaving the stage to be with the children and families in the crowd.

Love Scenario has achieved 100 000 000 Gaon streams in 19 weeks earning the Gaon Platinum Certification for streaming. With this Loves Scenario has surpassed Ailee’s record of 20 weeks for I Will Go To You Like The First Snow.

iKON is the first artist to receive Gaon Platinum Certification for streaming since its introduction!

Love Scenario achieves 100 million YouTube views

Another achievement to be added to a library of Love Scenario achievements.

On June 1 Love Scenario MV  achieved 100 million YouTube views making it iKON’s first MV to get 100 million views.

This achievement is even more impressive when you consider that only 6 Korean boy groups have MVs with over 100 million views and iKON is the youngest and fastest among them to achieve this milestone.

Just day before iKON has released a Japanese version of Love Scenario topping real-time digital charts in Japan.

18 weeks in Melon top 10 for Love Scenario

Although it has been months since Love Scenario came out it still manages to rake achievement after achievement and the latest one is 18 weeks o Melon top 10!!!

This achievement is even more impressive when  you consider that this is the longest an idol song has managed to stay on Melon top 10 in the last 10 years and it is the only song by a third generation group that has managed this feat.
